CDC Addresses Misconceptions About Antiviral Medications

CDC has produced a new information sheet for clinicians on the use of antiviral medications for treatment of H1N1 influenza. This one-pager "Quick Facts for Clinicians on Antiviral Treatments for 2009 H1N1" includes important information to clear up some common misconceptions about the timing and appropriate prescribing of antiviral medications for H1N1 flu. As you know, influenza antiviral medications can reduce the severity and duration of influenza illness and can reduce the risk of influenza-related complications, including severe illness and death.
