Welcome from SPSSNY President
The Student Pharmacist Society of the State of New York (SPSSNY) is a platform for current pharmacy students to go beyond the classroom and become actively involved in current legislative issues affecting our profession. In today’s pharmacy setting, pharmacists have to worry about more than simply taking care of their patients. With decreasing reimbursements and the creation of various fees and unregulated “claw-backs”, pharmacies are now having to battle with insurers just to remain profitable. SPSSNY allows students to tackle these issues head on, alongside current pharmacists to actively advocate for and improve their profession. Students involved in SPSSNY are encouraged to become active members of the pharmacy community and are given the knowledge to become exceptional pharmacists upon graduation. ~Lukas Brightman
