Presenter: John Faragon, PharmD, BCPS, AAHIV-P
Dr. John Faragon is a Pharmacist as Albany Medical Center and the Regional Pharmacy Director for the Northeast Caribbean AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC). His areas of specialty include drug interactions with HIV medications as well as medication errors. Dr. Faragon completed his Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from Albany College of Pharmacy in 2000, followed by an Ambulatory Care/Adult Learning residency in conjunction with Altamont Internal Medicine/Pediatrics and Albany College of Pharmacy

Learning Objectives:

 

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

§ Define the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and NYS Department of Health Guidelines for HIV management;

§ List criteria for HIV treatment in the modern day HIV era;

§ Describe, compare and contrast DHHS Preferred HIV Regimens;

§ State clinically relevant drug interactions with HIV medications;

§ List three online references for pharmacists to assist in managing HIV infection.
