Reducing Domestic Meth Production:

Preventing Illegal Purchase of Over-the-Counter Medications Containing Pseudoephedrine

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

·    Describe the scope of domestic meth production, which today is the one-pot method
and the key ingredient is OTC PSE sold in pharmacies;

·    Identify how the unique partnership between pharmacists and law enforcement, the National Precursor Log Exchange (NPLEx) is helping to effectively reduce meth production and protect patients, pharmacists and communities;

·    State how to register pharmacies for participation in NPLEx in New York.
