Medical epidemiologist with the Division of STD Prevention at the US Centers for Disease Control, and, since 2002, has been assigned to the Bureau of Sexually Transmitted Disease Control of the New York City Department of Health, where she serves as the Director of Surveillance, Epidemiology, and Special Projects

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

 

§ State the main purpose of expedited partner therapy for Chlamydia trachomatis;

§ Describe two unique attributes of expedited partner therapy prescriptions;

§ Describe why expedited partner therapy may be less effective when provided by prescription;

§ List three reasons prescriptions for expedited partner therapy may not be commonly seen in a community pharmacy.
