Business Plan Competition
PSSNY Business Case Study Competition:
- The competition is open to
individuals or teams of up to four students enrolled at colleges of
pharmacy in New York. All
participants must be registered for the PSSNY Mid-Winter
meeting and pre-registered for the

- A business-related case
study / scenario will be emailed to the
individual or team captain on November 1st 2015.
- The individual or team
will have seven weeks to review the case, develop a business plan, and
submit an Executive Summary of the business plan to the judges.
- The "Executive Summary”
should be no more than five pages in length, and
no smaller than 12 point font single spaced, One-inch margins,
including tables/graphs/photos & references.
- The deadline for
submission is December 31st 2015 time stamped by 2pm. Submissions should be sent to SPSSNY.BusinessPlan@gmail.com
- A team of judges will
review and score the submissions.
Top ranking teams will be invited to present their summary live to
the judges at the Mid-Winter meeting.
- Participants are not
limited with regard to the resources utilized to create the business plan
and summary (i.e.: websites,
reference books, live interviews with mentors/employers/wholesalers, etc.). References used should be itemized in
an addendum to the Executive Summary.
- Participants may not
access or contact the judges for assistance. Any participant or team that contacts a
judge in relation to the competition will
- Case studies, documents or
any materials that have been previously submitted to local or national competitions (I.e. NCPA) or as part
of course work for class will not be accepted.
Student Poster Competition:
- Student Poster Presentation hosted by PSSNY
- Each NYS college of pharmacy will be given space in the Exhibit hall to showcase 1 poster.
- The poster may be presented by the SPSSNY chapter/group, another
pharmacy organization, or by collaborating groups.
- There are
three categories that a poster can be entered under: Clinical
Education/Outreach, Professional Advocacy, Philanthropy
- Those students that have registered for the meeting
& have expressed interest in the poster presentation will receive a
group email to confirm the students collaborating & clarify any
poster is determined by vote: each PSSNY staff member, registered
meeting attendee, registered guest, & speaker will receive 1 ballot
to cast their vote. Vendors/exhibitors will receive 1 ballot per table
- The winner will be announced Saturday night during the Casino Reception.

- Handouts: All handouts that have been submitted will be accessible online. You can download to your smart devise or computer before the conference or print-out what you would like to have a hard copy of.

Event Registration Cancellation Policy:
This policy applies to all events sponsored by PSSNY and regional affiliates. For refunds, all cancellations must be received in writing no later than 48 hours prior to the scheduled event. A $10.00 (per person) processing fee will be deducted from all refunds. Phone cancellations will not be accepted. Cancellations may be received via fax, email or regular mail. It is up to the registrant to confirm receipt of the cancellation request. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after the deadline. In extenuating circumstances, to be determined solely by PSSNY, a voucher for attendance at another event might be offered. Additional fees may be required.
