The Ins and Outs of Warfarin Therapy Management

At the completion of this activity, the
participant will be able to:
- explain the pharmacology, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of vitamin K antagonists;
- describe warfarin's role in the prevention and management of thromboembolic events;
- identify indications for vitamin K antagonist therapy and the corresponding INR targets;
 - identify significant drug, food and herbal interactions with warfarin therapy; - describe the management of supra-therapeutic INRs;
- discuss the utility of genetic testing in warfarin's management;
- apply warfarin therapeutics to stimulated patient cases.
